sara e. hughes is a Massachusetts-born poet and is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She received an honorable mention for the American Poets College & University Prize in 2022. She is a 2022 Wild Seeds Writer’s Retreat Fellow and a 2022 Aspen Words participant. sara is the recipient of the 2021 Elaine V. Beilin, Howard Hirt, and Marjorie Sparrow Awards of Framingham State University. She holds a BA in English from Framingham State University and is a 2024 Nancy Craig Blackburn Fellow at Randolph College (MFA).

sara’s work is published in Illinois State University's literary magazine, Obsidian: Literature & Arts in the African Diaspora, and Arizona State University's online magazine, Superstition Review. sara has been an editor for the Colorado Review, New American Press, Typehouse Press, and Revolute Magazine. sara's work is forthcoming in december magazine.
